This is a set of 3D files to print your own Seburo M5 pistol as seen in Ghost In The Shell and Appleseed anime.
This is Duplex Designs' take on this popular pistol. With this one we designed the weapon with quite a few parts and tried to combine the on screen appearance with a semi-realistic mechanical operation and assembly.
Whilst not being viably operational, or contain all internal mechanisms, the following features allow for some movement:
- Slide will pull back.
- Trigger will move - if you fit a 4mmX10mm spring.
- The hammer will pull back - if you fit a 4mmX10mm spring.
The pistol mostly locks together using its own parts but there are four parts that will require some glue.
- The ejector could do with a spot of glue to secure it to the frame.
- The magazine base plate requires gluing to the magazine tube.
- The recoil rod should be glued into the locking block.
- Optionally glue the grip to secure it to the frame, although with the magazine release slid into place and the magazine present it is reasonably secure.
The Seburo M5 is a compact, semi‑automatic, SA/DA sidearm used by Section 9 in Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, known for its rotating‑barrel action, 3.5‑inch barrel, and sleek near‑future industrial design.
The M5 comes from Seburo, a fictional high‑tech arms company created by Shirow. Seburo appears across Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed, and other Shirow works.
Seburo is described as the small‑arms division of Poseidon Global Industrial Technologies, another fictional megacorporation. The company is said to have been founded in 2024, with model numbers often reflecting their in‑universe year of introduction.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (2002–2003)
It is introduced as Section 9’s primary sidearm, replacing more conventional real‑world pistols. Its compactness and reliability make it ideal for cyber‑enhanced operatives working in tight urban environments. In the Stand Alone Complex anime, it is the standard‑issue sidearm for Motoko Kusanagi, Saito, Boma, making it one of the most iconic weapons in the franchise.
Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. 2nd GIG
The M5 continues as a standard weapon, reinforcing its status as a core part of Section 9’s identity.
A complete build and assembly document is provided which includes step by step assembly instructions.
